Apple picking in the rain

What can you do on a rainy day? After staying indoors most of the day doing housework, I felt in need of some fresh air. I decided to pick some apples from the front garden. So out I went in the light rain and picked some apples. The air was fresh, earthy and invigorating!

Now on to what to make with them....Apple juice, cake, tartlets? A good excuse to go through some cook books and magazines.

Miss P had a good day at school yesterday, thanks for your good wishes.

A bientôt!

How wonderful to have an apple tree in your front yard. And apple picking in the rain sounds lovely to me, as we haven't had rain in months!
Love your pretty new header -- so homey and cosy looking.
Blessings,

What a lovely blog,I have never visited a blog before,I am 80 and my interest was your comments about Affpuddle as I lived in Lucks Cottage in the 80's.I loved it too, walking my dogs up the footpath to the forest. I had Joan Brocklebanks book also but alas lost it.Your blog brought back happy memories.

That was probably the best time to go! Because the bees had probably buzzed off somewhere to find cover.
That apple tart sure look good!

Dear Isabelle, I always think of the English as doing everything in the rain! I love crumble. It is one of my favourite comfort foods. So pleased to hear Miss P went well. The first day is always difficult but it can only get easier! Much Love. xx

I love going out after a rainfall - but I leave it to the males in my family to go out during! Thanks for your comment, and enjoy your apple pies!
