Downton Abbey is back!

I didn't watch Downton Abbey when it first came out, I started watching the first series just 3 months ago.
It is a beautifully made period drama. The locations, costumes, the story line and attention to detail make it a real pleasure to watch. I am not surprised that a second series has been made and I am very glad that it has. If you haven't watched it yet, I highly recommend that you watch the first series before watching the second one.
The new series of Downton Abbey begins on Sunday 18th September 2011 on ITV1 and ITV1HD at 21.00 hours.

Another programme to watch before that is: "Countrywise: The Real Downton Abbey" on same channels at 18.00 hours.

I will leave you with the beautiful theme tune from Downton Abbey, just click on the picture above. The Downton Abbey soundtrack CD will be released on Monday 19th September 2011. I have already reserved my copy! If you click on link below, you will be able to listen to a sample of each of the 19 tracks.
Track 19 is sung by Mary-Jess, it is hauntingly beautiful....

bientôt!

I can't wait to watch the new series, I hope its even better than the first. The locations and costumes are gorgeous and are so evocative of the age. I think its all the attention to period detail that clearly marks it as a Julian Fellowes creation.

Hello Isabelle, David and I are watching series 1 at the moment and LOVING it. The music is wonderful, isn't it? I can't think of a single fault with this show. Very pleased to see that the new series will be available by the time we finish with series 1. xx

I loved the first series! I am so glad I got back from France just in time for the start of the second one.

I really enjoyed it too. It reminded me of 'Upstairs Downstairs' another period drama I enjoyed. It's amazing how popular it's become isn't it? Have a great weekend!

Hello! I wish we had good shows like that here in the states. In the evenings, TV may as well be shut off. Especially with little ones in the house.

I hope this will air in the US Isabelle. I know I will love it. Just seeing the first picture here was enough to convince me.

This series must be really good, judging from the cast. I wish I could see it on Greek tv. Maybe I could download it from the internet, as I love period series/movies. Beautiful music, too!

Hello Isabelle!
Thank you for your comments on my blog.
I watched the very 1st episode last year, whilst holidaying in London, but I was so tired of all the sightseeing done during the day that I fell asleep!
Enjoy the 2nd serie!
