WOO HOO! BBC TURN BACK TIME - THE HIGH STREET

Some of you may have been following the BBC's TURN BACK TIME - THE HIGH STREET.
You might remember the 1970s era and in particular Woo Hoo the clothes shop.
Well, now you can shop there! Zoe and Mandy who participated in the programme decided to take on that shop and very appropriately sell vintage clothes and accessories.

When you enter the shop, the decor is very much as shown in the TV series.

Come in and have a browse...

It is a delightful shop which since opening has proved to be a huge success!
Why not go and see for yourself....I left there with 2 dresses, a top and a faux fur cape. Pictures to follow!

Mad about hats!

In my last post, I mentioned that I something was being hand made for me. Well there it is! A cloche hat made by Clare - Daisy Darling. I have admired her work ever since she began making hats. I have a small head and as a result I find it hard to get hats that fit me. I usually have to go to the children's section and the selection can be rather limited and not very grown up looking... To have a hat made to fit my head perfectly is wonderful! I am so pleased with it, I love it! Already thinking about which colour to go for next... :-)

I arranged to meet up with Clare in Frome where the Christmas Artisan Market was on. It was packed! The stalls went all the way up St Catherine's Hill. The shops were open and the whole place was filled with a Christmassy atmosphere.

Really liked these tweed hats. I love tweed and hats, the perfect combination!

Yes I couldn't resist the blue tweed hat in the end...It was a good day for hats! Well it's like shoes and handbags, you can never have too many :-)

What I bought at the V&H Fair

As promised in my previous post, here are the pictures of some of the things I bought at The V&H FAIR....

A pretty and delicate blouse from Tamzin - The Little Vintage Company

I fell in love with this purse the instant I saw it. It's from Viv - Hen's Teeth.

The inside of the purse is very pretty too.

A hand knitted beret and two hand knitted scarves from Liz - The Washerwoman. I have bought a few berets from Liz over the past couple of years as I really like them, they are a perfect fit.

The scarves were very reasonably priced and beautifully made.

Pretty lace & velvet Ribbon and little cut out paper people from Donna - Donna Flower
Black buttons from Sue - Dairy House Antiques

Dogs card from Sue - Pennychoo and the Kitten Christmas card from Hen - HenHouse

This is a special surprise gift bought by Phoebe at the fair. She bought the piece of jewellery from Leonore - International Quality Kitsch and the lavender scented heart from Tracey - The Vintage Bothy. Thank you Phoebe!

I made a couple of other purchases but which will arrive in the post separately, one of them is being made to order. More will be revealed when I receive them...
