R.I.P - ELIZABETH TAYLOR

I have just heard the sad news about Elizabeth Taylor having passed away aged 79.

I like a number of her films. Among them, Cat on a Hot tin roof, Giant, Suddenly last summer, Cleopatra, The VIPs, A place in the sun, Father of the bride.

A bientôt!

Yes, I just read this news also. I didn't know she was back in hospital.

She was unique! A one of a kind. One of those "Old Time Movie Stars." :-) Which they don't seem to "make" anymore.

Rest in peace, Elizabeth...

what a brilliant, beautiful, troubled woman. One of my favorites of her movies is "Father Of The Bride" and it's sequel. She is so young and heartbreakingly beautiful in it.
RIP Elizabeth Taylor.

My nana (who was once a cleaner at the Savoy, many years ago) said that Ms Taylor would always, "Good Morning" the early morning cleaning staff, as she went off to film.

A true star.

Yes, I heard the news on radio two as driving home from work. She and Richard Burton were a great love story - they couldn't live with each other and they couldn't live without each other. She was a very beautiful, iconic woman of her day. I didn't realize that she had won two Oscars nor that she was a Dame.

Loved Liz... Giant was one of her best movies to me. She played a Southern Steel Magnolia perfectly. A truly amazing woman.

Hello, I also blogged about this. I dreamt of her last night when the news must have been breaking in the UK. I've never dreamt of her before and the dream was so vivid I feel a sense of loss because of the dream. She was a great broad and they don't make them that sassy anymore! I love the shot of her above with the blue eye-shadow when she's older. So much beauty still in her face. I was pleased to read she died surrounded by her family. I always feel so sad for those who make the crossing along. xx

Very sad, a lesson to us all to live a healthy life and not spend years suffering and in pain, dying too young!

That's so sad, she was such a beautiful woman and icon and I believe she did a lot of work for the AIDS charity.

Thank you for my very first comment, quite exciting and now I'm looking forward to reading back through your lovely blog.

It's a great loss for us and for her family. I think that the reason she was so beautiful is that the goodness in her heart radiated through her face.

Love,

Hi Isabelle,
Liz was a beauty to the end. I loved all of her movies, but the one I loved all through the years the most was 'National Velvet'. I guess because I am such a horse lover.
big hugs to you from here...
