My work room is full of ladybirds wandering around.
A little group of them huddling up in the corner of the window. They'd better not get settled too long as the window frames are about to be painted white.
One them flew on to my arm
Another appeared as I was about to make a phone call.
I love ladybirds, they are such pretty little bugs. I am enjoying their company in the workroom, although I am occasionally startled when one decides to fly right up to my ear or face!

I recently received this lovely box full of " Torroncino Siciliani" (nougats) from Michela. The box did look fuller but I must confess that we ate quite a few before realising that I hadn't taken a photo yet! Delicious they are too...
I had commented on how delicious the nougats looked on Michela's Sicilia post. The next thing I knew, Michela sent me some!

These pretty flowers and card arrived on Tuesday, they were for Phoebe and I as a thank you for having helped M whilst her car was stuck in water down our lane (Previous post). Love the picture on the card!
A bit of sunshine here at last. The ladybirds are loving it today! I hope you are too.

I love ladybirds too...it's the spots you see!
I remember I was sitting on the beach in Norfolk with my parents many years ago,and suddenly a swarm...if that's what you call it...of ladybirds surrounded everyone. There were literally thousands of them all over the beach.My mother said to my father 'turn around' and his back was covered in them!I'll never forget it.
Quite unusual to see them at this time of year though.

We had quite a few arrive in our bedroom the other week. I was worried they were the Harlequin ladybirds but checked identification on line and think they were "eyed" ladybirds which have 15 spots.
Lovely expression on the cats' faces, I am sure M really appreciated your help.
I think that the ladybugs bring good karma, so definitely good things are coming your way!!! Besides all the lovely gifts you received. You have to love our blog friends, so nice to each other.....

I like ladybirds! We say they give luck...many ladybirds a lot of luck to you! Torroncini are delicious...my favourite are covered with dark chocolate and very beautiful flowers!

You have lots of ladybirds in your house. When I was a child I use to collect ladybirds out in the garden on a stone wall, I loved them until one day one decided to go to the toilet on my hand and then flew away, I got such a fright as I never knew they could fly, poor innocent child me. It was probably their way of telling me to leave them alone!

Indeed how generous of Michela! That is so thoughtful! Poor little lady bugs - they are probably taking shelter from the cold inside your house - I once had that with a nest of baby spiders in my shower. They'd appear when it was warm and the shower heat filled the room, but then they went back inside when it grew cold. Then one day...when it was warmer, they all sailed out the window and on their way. xxx

FINALLY!!!! Someone else who has been adopted by swarms of Ladybirds - they are everywhere here too! All in the corners of the windows - hundreds!!!!
My mum watched a nature programme that said they are not our normal Ladybirds - but alien ones that are taking over (the world?)

Oh, you are so lucky to have those gorgeous ladybirds residing with you ( although it probably doesn't feel like it, lol, when they get in your way ). I haven't seen a ladybird in years.
Aha...I am not alone then in being adopted by hundreds of ladybirds. They are in every corner of our house, fluttering about whenever we disturb them and crawling around the floor, fascinating the dogs.
To tell the truth I am fed up to the back teeth of them, we even have them roosting (do ladybirds roost) in the cracks around the window frames so if we open a window ...in they all flutter or fall if they were asleep!

We call them ladybugs and we have been inundated with them in our home too! If I have to have a bug in my home, I guess I would want it to be a ladybug!!

Ladybirds bring good luck, fortune and wishes. Take a lottery ticket out! I do love ladybirds as well. They are such magical, cozy little things. I have never heard of them biting as a previous poster said. How interesting. I can't imagine them with teeth! My daughter loves ladybirds and always tries to pick them up when she sees them. What a lovely gift from your friend. She obviously appreciates you as we all do. Enjoy your weekend. We have a very busy one ahead of us with all of Daisy's swimming, ballet, parties and the renovation chaos! xx

Gosh you dont hear of ladybirds much this time of year. Always rather imagine them in long summer days, in a Enid Blytonesque sort of way. They are pretty though and I always think of the nursery rhyme.

I'm so glad Lori mentioned that ladybirds bite. I was scrolling down through your messages before writing and telling you the same thing. They have a nasty bite which can itch for weeks. Lovely though they are, they need treating with respect!

Ladybirds are amazing little things, I dont think Ive ever seent them at this time of year before though so how fabulous to have little spotty winter visitors in your workroom!!

We had a similar invasion last month and I spent a fair amount of time trying to rescue these lovely little insects from certain death. I had just sprayed all the carpets in the house, the annual flea treatment, which would have certainly killed the sudden arrival of ladybirds.
We still have one or two..hibernating in the highest corners of the window frames.

P.s It sounds like our home is flea infested! Heaven forbid.. it is just a precaution as our cat refuses to wear a flea collar.
