Enjoy it, spring is here at last!

Daffodils & lilac, such a good combination

Sanderson fabric, I never tire of that design

And now on to this.....
On Tuesday our phone rang, I answered it to be greeted with very loud crackles then all of a sudden, complete and utter silence. The line was dead, I couldn't dial out or receive calls. I then discovered that the internet was not working either. We had been in touch with BT several times over the past 4 weeks as we kept getting terrible interference on the line and at times could barely hear the other caller. Our internet connection was always coming and going. All very annoying and inconvenient.
The earliest BT could come over was yesterday afternoon . They finally discovered that there was a fault on an outside cable which they fixed. Had they paid more attention to all our previous calls, they could have fixed it sooner instead of waiting until we lost all connection. Sorry, feel better now I've had my little moan!

I thank all of you who have left such lovely comments on my blog. I enjoyed reading them all when the internet was connected again. Being without internet for 48 hours means that I have quite a bit of catching up to do now with emails, Ebay and blogging. I shall soon be paying a visit to your blogs though.

During the week, I saw this card sold by Oxfam and sent it to a friend of mine.
I feel sure many can relate to that feeling!

I also found these whilst browsing in a charity shop in Frome

A small throw
Notice the colours again, greens and blues...

Royal Winton jug & pretty aurora borealis crystal brooch

Work in the house is progressing. Phoebe's room has been completed. Alan has been working hard on my work room. We have had a cloud of dust in the house since removing the old wallpaper! Lots of work as the bare plaster is not in good condition. Alan comes out of that room looking as if he has had a bag of flour poured on him. He is good though, not a single complaint!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the arrival of spring time!

A bientôt!
Isabelle x

Hi Isabelle,
Another lovely post - That Sanderson fabric is one of my favourites too - I have a small amount of the wallpaper too.
And your Lilac print is beautiful.

I love the cards in Oxfam, I recently bought one of a pretty girl which read 'The ten best years of a woman's life are those between 39 and 59' - couldn't agree more! ;-))

Have a lovely sunny, spring weekend,
Niki

Hi Isabelle, we will have been here 6 years in August, Holly was nearly 4 and Olly 13. We live in the Haute Vienne which is in the Limousin. We do love it very much and it is great for the children and now they are both totally bi-lingual also a huge advantage to them. Where do your family live? where is your sister moving to? My sister leaves over here too, which is nice.
Take care.

I'm glad that your telecoms problems have been resolved! I love lilacs ~ white lilac is an all time favourite of mine...

The jug is to die for! And the brooch! ~ my Mum collects 1950's jewellery and I have inherited her passion for the same. I think the old glass jewellery is so pretty.

So glad that we are getting some spring weather ~ I think everyone feels so much better for it...

What beautiful things you have pictured here. I found you via Caphil Postcards and was intrigued by your blogname. I, too love old cards and postcards, and am slowly putting each beloved card up for perusal on my Cruncy Hearts blog. (grin)

I've really enjoyed your blog.

Flour-covered ~ that's a very desciptive way to say how your husband looked. I can picture it now! My husband has looked that very same way many times. Once, when cutting a large opening through the brick wall in our kitchen (3 bricks-thick) to put in a picture window, he emerged covered in red dust. He never looked better to me! Wish I'd have captured that moment on camera ~ I would soon have a beautiful view that hubby created just for me.
